Sponsoring an American Power Boat Association (APBA) Superboat for the first time, Team JOE BOXER was the first team to finish the 15th Annual Miami Super Boat Grand Prix (April 15-17, 2005). However, due to a technicality caused by a low-hovering press helicopter, Team JOE BOXER was penalized for missing a marker and officially finished sixth.

JOE BOXER is proud to be an official sponsor of Team JOE BOXER, along with Patron Tequila and Pier 57. Leading the team at the throttles of this Super Vee Fountain is Bill McComb, the 2003 World Champion.
"It's really important for our team to have spare JOE BOXER's at the start and finish of each race, in fact I think our team needs to donate the entire helicopter flight crew a free set after we launched off a wave and almost hit their tail rotor," says McComb with a laugh.
He and driver, Jimmy Von Hubertz will also compete in this weekend's 1st Annual Fountain Super Boat Grand Prix in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Team JOE BOXER will also head north in September to battle the waves of the Hudson River for the 14th Annual New York Super Boat Grand Prix.
JOE BOXER CEO, Bill Sweedler may even take the wheel for the New York race.
